On the 10th of December 2004, RugbyWA won a bid to host the 14th Super Rugby franchise. This was when the Western Force were born.
RugbyWA won the bid over Rugby Union Victoria (who still aren't talking to us), but not to worry, they got their Super Rugby debut in 2011. This was thanks to the West Australian government promising a $25 million upgrade towards what was then Member Equity Stadium (now NIB Stadium).
Western Australia was then the host of the fourth Super Rugby franchise.
Happy 10th birthday, Western Force.
Stay tuned for a review of each of their ten years, in the build up to their most important yet.
